You Have a Dream!

Last week I 'dropped in' to an Emotional Fitness session being run by one of our instructors. Included in our sharing was a discussion about the use of 'Dreamtime' - one of our nine steps. A fascinating and insightful conversation which produced some creative ways of helping the dreamer make sense of the images and events in their dream.

In Dreamtime, our purpose is not to interpret the dream. As with everything we do in Emotional Fitness, we listen; we don't analyze or advise, since our philosophy is that the wisdom lies within the person we are listening to. You are the expert on your own life, and you are the expert on your own dreams. Our job is to offer you the tools to use that expertise.

One thing's for sure, though. Everything in your dream is a reflection of you. It's your dream, and it's your unconscious mind working. In our discussion, we went further than that. By extension, the world around us, everything we see, hear, experience, is a reflection of who we are. It means that the world is not as we see it, it is as we are. Think about that. The implications are huge.

We can change what's in our dreams and how we view the images - and we can change how we experience the world. That's powerful!

After having a few “dream time“ sessions I no longer fear my dreams but rather embrace them and see them as simply: information from me, to me and for me. certainly affords me great comfort and understanding of who I am.

🎶 That’s me in the corner,

That’s me in the spotlight.
